1. Handprint Easter Chicken

Materials:

  • Construction paper
  • Yellow Paint
  • Markers
  • Googly eyes

Instructions:

This is one of my favorite Easter crafts to do with the kids. It’s simple, fun, and always a hit! And you know how much I love doing handprint projects with my kids!

All you need is some yellow paint, construction paper, markers, and a few googly eyes to bring this adorable chicken to life. Start by dipping your child’s hand in yellow paint and pressing it onto the paper to make a handprint. Once the handprint dries, it magically transforms into a little chicken with just a few extra touches. It’s a great way to capture their tiny hands and create a playful decoration that will brighten up your Easter celebration.

Now comes the fun part – turning that handprint into a chicken! Grab your markers and draw a little beak, some cute feet, and maybe even some fluffy feathers around the edges. Stick on some googly eyes to give your chicken some personality, and watch as your little one’s creation takes shape.

This sweet handprint chicken will surely become a cherished Easter memory! It’s a wonderful keepsake to look back on in the years to come.

2. Handprint Animals

Materials:

  • Cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes
  • Feathers
  • Cotton balls
  • Pom-poms
  • Markers

Instructions:

Creating handprint Easter decorations is an absolute blast, and it’s the perfect way to get your little ones involved in the holiday festivities! Grab some cardstock (or construction paper), scissors, and glue, and you’re ready to go.

Start by tracing your child’s hand on the paper – this is the base for creating all sorts of adorable Easter animals. I start with the chicken so I use yellow paper. Once the hand is cut out, you can transform it into a cute chicken by adding googly eyes, little beak and feet out of construction paper or cardstock, and some feathers. The best part is, this simple craft can be personalized by using different colors and accessories to create a whole Easter animal family!

You can take the same handprint idea and turn it into a bunny or a sheep too – just switch up the colors! For the bunny, use white paper for the handprint and cut it out. Leave out the pointer and ring fingers as the ears. Add some soft pom-poms for the tail and nose. Then, glue the googly eyes and draw the whiskers and a smile.

For the sheep, black paper works wonderfully, and you can create a fluffy body with lots of pom-poms or cotton balls. The possibilities are endless! This craft is not only a fun activity to do with your child, but it’s also a great way to make lasting Easter decorations. These little handprint animals are so cute, they’ll be the perfect addition to any Easter table, wall display, or even as an Easter basket decoration!

3. Colorful Easter Wreath

Materials:

  • Cardstock or construction paper
  • Paper plate
  • String
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Paint
  • Markers
  • Glitter glue

Instructions:

A colorful Easter wreath is a wonderful craft that will add a burst of springtime cheer to your home – and the best part is, your little ones can get super creative with it!

Start with a paper plate (cut out the middle to create the wreath shape) and attach a string to the back for easy hanging.

Then, grab some cardstock (preferred) or construction paper and cut out fun egg shapes. This craft is all about personalization, so encourage your child to use their handprints, fingerprints, or even paint splatters to decorate the eggs. It’s a fantastic way to capture their tiny hands while adding lots of color and texture to your wreath.

You can add a mix of bright pastel colors, paint some little flowers or bunnies on the eggs, or even go wild with glitter for an extra touch of sparkle. The best part? Each egg will be a one-of-a-kind creation that shows off your child’s personality and creativity.

Once the eggs are decorated, glue them all around the wreath, creating a playful and unique design that’s perfect for Easter.

When it’s all done, you’ll have a vibrant, handmade Easter wreath that’s perfect for hanging on your door or displaying in your home as a reminder of the joy and creativity that comes with the season!

4. Hoppy Easter Card

Materials:

  • Cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Cotton rounds
  • Googly eyes
  • Markers

Instructions:

Creating a “Hoppy Easter” card is a fun, easy, and heartfelt way to spread some Easter joy, and your little ones will love making it!

Start by folding a piece of cardstock or construction paper in half to form the card.

For the grass, trace your child’s hand on a sheet of green construction paper and cut it out. This will give the card a playful, textured base, making it look like a bunny is hopping through a grassy field. This hands-on step is not only creative but also a wonderful way to capture your child’s handprint in a special Easter memory.

Next, let’s make a fluffy bunny to bring the card to life! Use cotton rounds to create the bunny’s body and head (or just the head with ears if you don’t have enough room) – so soft and fun to work with! Add googly eyes to give the bunny some character, then use a marker to draw a cute little nose, whiskers, and a smiling mouth. Once the bunny is all ready, it’ll look like it’s sitting on the grass made from your child’s handprint!

On the front of the card, write “Hoppy Easter” and your best wishes inside the card to make it extra personal.

This card is a delightful, homemade way to share the joy of Easter with friends or family, and it’s sure to be a keepsake they’ll treasure!

5. Easter Meadow Fork Painting

Materials:

  • Construction paper
  • Plastic forks
  • Paint
  • Googly eyes
  • Markers

Instructions:

Painting a meadow with a fork is a super fun and unique way to celebrate the season, and it’s perfect for getting messy with your little ones!

Start by dipping a fork into green paint to create the grass for your Easter meadow. The fork’s ‘stamps’ are perfect for making a textured, grassy effect that gives your painting lots of character. Let your child use the fork to make as much grass as they like, giving their Easter meadow a vibrant, lively look. It’s such a great way for them to experiment with texture and painting techniques, all while having a blast with the process!

Once the grass is done, it’s time to add cute little chickens! Dip the fork into yellow paint and gently stamp it onto the paper to form the chicken’s body. I make three fork stamps for one chicken but I let my kids make it as small or as big as they like.

After the paint dries, you can add some googly eyes, or simply draw them with a marker, along with the beak and feet to give the chicken its personality. If you want to take it up a notch, grab some blue paint and use the fork to add a beautiful, soft sky above the meadow.

This playful and easy craft is not only a great way to explore painting with different tools, but it’s also a charming way to decorate for Easter!

I hope these fun and simple Easter crafts have sparked some creativity and excitement for you and your little ones! Whether you’re decorating your home with a colorful wreath or sending a heartfelt card, each project is a beautiful way to make lasting memories and celebrate the season together. The best part? These crafts don’t require fancy supplies, just a little time and a lot of imagination.

I can just imagine how proud your little ones will feel as they see their creations come to life, and how these bright, cheerful crafts will add a personal touch to your Easter celebrations. Each piece will be a reminder of the fun time spent together, and before you know it, your home will be filled with the joy of their creativity.

Crafting together not only brings joy, but it also gives us the opportunity to enjoy the little moments and create something special. If you’re feeling inspired, gather your craft supplies and dive into these Easter projects with your family. Whether you’re making decorations, cards, or paintings, the memories you create will be the true highlight of the holiday.
